More than ever, knowledge is power, and learning how to manage and share information effectively is a global concern. To address this challenge, the 16th annual International Conference of Knowledge Management (ICKM2020) will be held December 3-5, 2020 virtually as broadcast online from “The City of Medicine,” Durham, NC, USA. This year´s theme, “Knowledge Commons”, will explore how creative commons agreements can provide open platforms for broad sharing of information on topics such as healthcare, environment, public policy, and finance.
Professional knowledge management (KM) helps ensure that when employees retire or leave, then their knowledge is available for reuse and new applications. Sharing data and knowledge that leads to discoveries about global business and healthcare is a goal of the 2020 conference. Participants will have access to cutting-edge research, and industry’s latest technological advances, as well as the opportunity to exchange ideas and knowledge.
The ICKM is a leading Information Science forum with a diverse audience from academia and industry, providing access to research and innovations, as well as the opportunity to network with invested professionals.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, subsequent restrictions on travel funding and health safety concerns, the ICKM2020 will be a virtual summit for the first time. This new, digital opportunity for increased participation will be available to KM researchers, professionals, and students from around the world. Keynote speakers are Dr. Chuck Friedman (Professor of Medical Education and Chair of the Department of Learning Health Sciences at the University of Michigan Medical School) and Dr. Ed Hammond (Director, Duke Center for Health Informatics, Duke Translational Medicine Institute and Applied Informatics Research). Conference topics will include: knowledge commons, data science and analytics, best practices, information privacy and security, shared governance, usability studies, project management, artificial and business intelligence, and archiving shareable data.
