Track on Knowledge Management in Organizations

As the amount of data produced and used by organizations grows exponentially, knowledge management is increasingly important to success of any business, non-profit institution, government agency or non-government organization. Failure to efficiently manage knowledge within and across organizations results in failure to meet organization’s objectives and other losses. Knowledge management facilitates the decision-making, constructs learning organizations, and makes innovation and cultural change possible. The challenges that an organization has to meet in the process of managing its knowledge include recognizing and articulating knowledge and defining areas of expertise, overcoming internal conflicts, cultural barriers, language barriers, limitations of information and communication technologies, etc. To navigate this complex ecosystem, the track on Knowledge Management in Organizations will focus on the following broad areas:

Knowledge Management Practices (best practices, communities of practice, etc.)
Knowledge Management Tools and Technologies in Organizations
Social Networks and Knowledge Sharing
Competitive and Business Intelligence
Intellectual Capital, Return on Investment
Project Management
